The Center for Healing Injury and Pain
Myofascial Bodywork
Our center practices a system of structural integration
therapy in direct support of the functional musculoskeletal work,
osteopathic therapy, physical therapy, and post-traumatic stress
therapy practiced at the Center for Healing Injury and Pain.
This system of therapeutic bodywork includes Rolfing
(also known as Myofascial Release), Craniosacral Therapy, Visceral
Manipulation, and Movement Education. These are multiple means for
resolving physical structural imbalance.
These problems can be multifaceted, and they could
include postural strains and imbalances; reduced mobility; inflexibility;
acute and chronic pain; headaches; chronic anxiety; chronic fatigue; and
sleep disturbances.
The intent of therapeutic bodywork is to help the patient
obtain greater structural resilience and balance. This is accomplished
by working “hands-on” with the respective structural system (myofascial,
cranial, and visceral) and by educating the patient in awareness of habits
of movement.
